AAA CEO Named to Power 250 List
Congratulations to AAA Western and Central New York President and CEO Anthony B. Spada who has been named to the Buffalo Business First Power 250 List.
Every year, Business First “compiles a list of people who are making changes and improvements throughout Buffalo and Western New York. The list changes every year based on events, news, and promotions.”
The newspaper ranks Spada 152nd on the list of 250 powerful people in Western New York.
He was named President and CEO in 2012 after serving as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer from 1995 to 2012.
Throughout his tenure at AAA, Spada has played an integral role in many major initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions that established AAA Western and Central New York. He founded the AAA Members Insurance Agency of New York in 2006, and it reached $50 million in policy premiums last year. He oversaw the rebound of AAA Travel following the pandemic and is leading plans to expand travel services with a focus on family, luxury, and group travel opportunities. Throughout his career, Spada has continually sought opportunities to add more member benefits and find new ways to serve AAA members. He also founded the Auto Club of Western & Central New York Foundation for Traffic Safety, Inc.
Aside from leading AAA Western and Central New York, Spada is a board member of AAA Life Insurance of New York, board member of the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, board member of Great Lakes Battery Service, LLC, director of the Affinity Insurance Company, chair of AAA Public Affairs Committee, and is past president of AAA New York State.
Last year, he received the 2023 Association Champion Award from AAA’s national office. This is the highest honor bestowed by AAA, and it recognizes active, ongoing, strategic leadership activities.
