Disney Thrills: Magical adventures for everyone
Disney Thrills: Magical adventures for everyone
Looking for a vacation that will thrill the whole family?
Look no further than Walt Disney World Resort® in Orlando, where new attractions join beloved classics to create Disney Thrills for any generation.
Kimberly Hopkins, a travel advisor with Hopkins Adventures LLC, specializes in Disney vacations through AAA Western and Central New York.
'Walt Disney World Resort® is my family's happy place. There is truly something for everyone. I love the variety offered in their thrilling attractions," Hopkins said.
With the recent opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise, Disney has added two new roller coasters that take the thrills to a whole new level.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is Disney's first-ever reverse launch roller coaster, taking riders on a smooth journey through the Galaxy as they spin to amazing tunes.
The newly opened TRON Lightcycle/ Run presented by Enterprise ride puts visitors on Team Blue in a high-speed, high-tech competition against Team Orange.
"TRON is a super smooth outdoor roller coaster that twists and turns beneath a beautifully lit canopy. The unique seating on TRON Lightcycle/ Run presented by Enterprise truly makes you feel like you are racing through the movie, with digital graphics and vibrant colors telling a story from start to finish," Hopkins said.
But these two new coasters are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Disney's thrilling attractions. Avatar Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest-Legend of the Forbidden Mountain®, Space Mountain®, and Test Track® Presented by Chevrolet® round out the thrill ride lineup.
"Avatar Flight of Passage is in a class all its own," Hopkins said. "You feel like you are flying over Pandora on the back of a Banshee. It's a smooth 3D ride that incorporates smells, sights, and sounds to make you feel like you are really there."
Expedition Everest-Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, on the other hand, offers a more classic roller coaster experience with huge drops, dark caves, and a thrilling encounter with the infamous Yeti.
"Don't let the shiny new rides fool you," Hopkins said. "I think Everest is still the most intense ride in the Parks."
Whether you’re young or old, Walt Disney World Resort® has thrills available for everyone. Themed rides including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Slinky Dog Dash offer slightly smaller drops and don't go upside down, making them suitable for all ages. And for Star Wars fans, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge® provides tons of thrills without any roller coasters at all.
"Piloting the Millennium Falcon on the Smugglers Run simulation ride or escaping the dark side on the trackless Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance are great options for kids that like to keep their feet on the ground," Hopkins said.
Hopkins advises visitors to keep a close eye on their email to ensure they have the most up-to-date information before arriving at the parks.
"I highly suggest working with a travel advisor to make sure that you get the most out of your trip," she recommends. With the help of a travel advisor, you can navigate the changes and make the most of your magical adventure at Walt Disney World.
So, whether you're hugging your favorite Disney character, exploring the immersive worlds of Pandora—The World of Avatar and Star Wars™, or conquering thrilling roller coasters, Walt Disney World is the ultimate destination for unforgettable thrills.
As Hopkins puts it, "We have visited with friends and family of all ages, and there is always something for everyone."
Plan your visit, embrace the magic, and let a Walt Disney World Thrills take you.
