For AAA Travel Advisor Katie Fisher and her family, those magical memories were created during a recent Adventures by Disney trip to Costa Rica.

The excursion closed with a stay at the Arenal Kioro Suites resort, where Fisher and her husband were able to admire the Arenal Volcano from their window.

“The only thing we could say over and over was, ‘there is a volcano outside of our room!’ It was breathtaking,” Fisher said.

The Chocolate Rainforest tour was another highlight, where travelers learned how to make chocolate from bean to bar, with plenty of tasting opportunities along the way.

Less delicious, but perhaps just as memorable, was Fisher’s experience overcoming her fear of spiders by handling a tarantula.

“A lot of people ask me what I was thinking, or why I did this, or if I was afraid,” Fisher said. “I did it to show our son that it is okay to face your fears and do things that scare you sometimes.”

Fisher noted that Adventures by Disney vacations are for people who aren’t afraid of staying busy and going outside their comfort zones. The days start early, and the itineraries are filled with activity, although there is downtime to enjoy the resorts on your own.
