Where to go: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Where to go: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Early to bed, early to rise as Benjamin Franklin advised? Not in Philadelphia.
Native son W.C. Fields once joked, “Last week, I went to Philadelphia, but it was closed.” Now Philly boasts more than a place in American history. It's hip. It's open all hours. It’s a travel destination with fun things to do with friends.
Stroll along myriad streets and discover upscale galleries and fine boutiques, elegant haute-cuisine restaurants and gritty fast-food joints—Philly cheesesteak, anyone? In warm weather, dance in open-air clubs to river lights and a view of the Ben Franklin Bridge. This Colonial enclave has transformed itself into a city so happening that even old Ben would stay up past his bedtime.
What To Do
Liberty Bell
526 Market St. | 215-965-2305
The Liberty Bell offers a timeless message: “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof.” Go see the bell’s famous crack for yourself and be inspired like thousands of others before you. Then head across the street to Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were signed.
The Rocky Statue
2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway | 303-405-4761
After touring Philly’s cultural district, which has a museum for everyone, save some energy to jog 72 “Rocky Steps” up to the Museum of Art just like Rocky Balboa in the 1976 movie. Find the bronze Rocky statue at the bottom right of the steps – it’s one of the city’s most popular pieces of public art and a fun photo op!

These iconic eateries are located right across from one another and both claim to be the BEST. They’re both open 24/7, so you’ll have plenty of time to make up your mind. Reading Terminal Market
