AAA Western and Central New York is proud to announce this year’s Four Diamond Award-winning hotels and restaurants. There are 17 hotels and two restaurants in the Western and Central New York region which have been awarded the prestigious AAA Four Diamond distinction for 2022. An awards ceremony was held at Casa Larga Vineyards in Fairport on October 18.

How rare are these Diamonds? Four Diamond establishments represent just four percent of the nearly 60,000 AAA Diamond hotels and restaurants across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. Local Four Diamond properties stand out across the state! New York has 94 Four Diamond hotels - 64 of which are in New York City and 17 of which are in Western and Central New York. There are 50 Four Diamond restaurants in the state — 43 are in NYC and two are in Western and Central New York.

For 85 years, AAA has conducted professional, in-person property inspections on behalf of its member travelers. To earn the Four Diamond designation, hotels and restaurants must pass a rigorous evaluation that includes unscheduled visits from AAA’s expert inspectors.

Now more than ever, travelers want peace of mind when choosing where to stay. AAA enhanced its hotel inspection process during the pandemic with adenosine triphosphate (ATP) surface testing, the same technology used to verify cleanliness in the healthcare and food service industries. AAA inspectors swab and test commonly touched surfaces in hotel rooms to ensure the utmost cleanliness.

Four Diamond hotels are noted for upscale style and amenities enhanced with the right touch of service. Four Diamond restaurants feature distinctive fine dining, well-served amid an upscale ambiance.
