AAA Western and Central New York has hired Nicholas Showens as manager of the AAA Camillus Travel & Insurance Center. Showens brings extensive retail and credit card sales experience to AAA and says he looks forward to providing AAA services to Central New Yorkers.

“With my background in sales, I was looking for a more personal experience,” Showens said. “And how much more personal can you get than AAA? I’ll get to help people with many different services, including travel.”

Most recently, Showens worked for Bass Pro Shops in Utica where he was a group sales manager overseeing multiple departments. Prior to that, Showens managed the credit card program at Bass Pro as a Club Membership Manager where he helped grow their credit card program portfolio.  He managed a team of people responsible for promoting the multi-tiered credit card program. In just one year, Showens received three awards for his achievements.

“I look forward to bringing my leadership and sales skills to AAA Western and Central New York,” he said. “I encourage anyone in need of travel or insurance services to stop in and see us at the AAA Camillus location.”

Showens grew up in the North Syracuse area and attended West Genesee High School. He’s familiar with all of Central New York and now calls Camillus home. Showens is proud to be a dad to his seven-year-old son, which he considers his biggest accomplishment.

 
In his free time, Showens tries to get out on local waterways. “I’m a big fisherman,” he said. “I spend a lot of time fishing all over Central New York and New York State. I’ve fished all the way from Lake Champlain to Lake Erie.” He’s also an avid sports fan who enjoys watching football.
