AAA & United Way - Tell Us Your Story
Helping people in our community overcome numerous challenges is what United Way has done for over 100 years, and a mission AAA Driver Training Instructor Jim Gallagher has supported throughout his career.
“You don’t have to look very far to see people that are worse off than you,” Gallagher said. “A lot of us run around all day thinking ‘I wish I could do this’ or ‘I wish I had that,’ but if you look a little beyond your own situation you will see people who are worse off, and it reminds you of the need to share.”
United Way’s mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good — fighting for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every community.
“The United Way assists numerous agencies throughout every community, assisting with all kinds of social organizations that are trying to assist people in need,” Gallagher said.
Gallagher said that when he donated to the United Way, he knew he was making a difference in his community.
“I can sleep at night knowing that I’m doing something to help someone,” he said.
AAA Western and Central New York’s 2022 campaign with its associates will run through the end of May.
“I know the money I donated is being used to benefit people who have some type of need — whether it’s housing, food, clothing, education, or whatever it might be — that’s why I got involved," Gallagher said.
Please join us in supporting the efforts of the United Way. With generous support from people like you, we can make sure we’re helping people in our community and reimagining a more equitable future, where everyone can thrive.
