Fall Fun in Ontario County
Fall Fun in Ontario County
Fall is officially upon us, and this is the time to take in the picturesque scenes of trees changing colors before they lose their leaves to winter! There are several local fall excursions for New Yorkers to take part in with their friends and family including driving or bike tours, hikes and even sky rides in nature.
Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, nestled in Ontario County, offers Upstate New Yorkers Fall Sky Rides through October 27th. The 15 to 20-minute ride through the Bristol summit provides visitors the opportunity to experience the colorful foliage transition before snow and skiers hit the slopes. After a picturesque ride up the summit, you disembark and have the option to take a moment and enjoy the incredible view from up top, hike down via trails, or ride back down in the chairlift and witness the breathtaking views of Bristol, N.Y.
And Bristol Mountain ensures visitors have plenty of fun in the autumn season with the addition of Aerial Adventures for thrill seekers who wish to climb, zip line and scale the canopy, along with a one-weekend-only Fall Festival (October 12th & October 13th). The festival is a prime opportunity to eat food, enjoy music, arts and take a Sky Ride up the summit. Though the canopy is quite green right now, colors will change quickly, and the Sky Ride is a beautiful and peaceful day trip to take in beauty! Well, it’s peaceful if you aren’t too frightened by heights!
