Italy is also standing out, moving up four places on the list of top travel destinations. That’s no surprise as AAA surveys find that international travel is growing in popularity. In fact, a recent AAA Travel survey showed that one-quarter of Americans plan to take an international vacation over the next 18 months. 

According to AAA trips booked, 2019 top destinations for travelers from the Western and Central New York region were:

5.    Jamaica

9.    Cancun
10.  Dominican Republic 
 

While Florida and Caribbean cruises held their top spots for two years in a row, Italy jumped up four places to third. Jamaica remains in the fifth rank, while Hawaii and Las Vegas both moved up one spot on the list. Cancun made it into the top ten, while the Dominican Republic ranks tenth.
