Rochester and Buffalo Motorists Lose Almost $1800 Per Year on Roads
TRIP is a national transportation research nonprofit who research the condition of US road infrastructure and safety. They discovered that the average driver in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area loses $1,765 annually as a result of driving on roads that are deteriorated, congested, and that lack some desirable safety features. The average driver in the Rochester area loses $1,626 annually.

WHAT:
The average driver in the Rochester area loses $1,626 annually as a result of driving on roads that are deteriorated, congested, and that lack some desirable safety features, according to a new report from TRIP, a national transportation research nonprofit based in Washington, DC.
Local speakers will join TRIP at a virtual news conference on Tuesday to highlight the report’s findings. The report, “New York Transportation by the Numbers: Meeting the State’s Need for Safe, Smooth and Efficient Mobility,” examines road and bridge conditions, congestion, economic development, highway safety, and transportation funding in the Albany-Schenectady-Troy, Binghamton, Buffalo-Niagara Falls, New York-Newark-Jersey City, Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, Rochester, Syracuse and Utica urban areas and statewide.
