AAA Western and Central New York is pleased to announce the promotion of Alex Tetzlaff to Commercial Insurance Manager. In his role, Tetzlaff will lead AAA’s commercial insurance department, which services businesses across the Western and Central New York region, by managing the sales and servicing processes, maintaining existing clientele, while also growing the unit. He will be based out of AAA’s Amherst headquarters and will train, develop, and manage commercial agents to have successful careers in the commercial insurance industry.

“The agents and resources we already have in place in our agency have built a solid foundation for us to expand a commercial unit upon,” said Tetzlaff. “We have a competitive advantage in the commercial industry with our workforce, office locations, and brand reputation. I’m excited to play a critical role in leading this department’s future towards many years of growth and success by implementing sound fundamentals and basic sales and service processes that will allow us to function efficiently and effectively. Once we have the necessary pieces in place we will begin to network and market to the community an invitation to bring their commercial business to AAA where we will be able to meet and exceed their needs.”

Tetzlaff previously served as an Insurance Sales Agent for AAA WCNY where he provided expert knowledge in products and professional counseling for clients, customer relationship management, solution-oriented salesmanship, policy documentation, record management, and networking strategies for prospecting and generating new leads. Tetzlaff joined AAA in 2023. Prior to that he owned his own insurance agency, specializing in commercial and agricultural insurance, and spent eight years with GEICO. Tetzlaff is a graduate of the University at Buffalo.

AAA Insurance has enjoyed significant growth in recent years. The local agency reached $50 million in premium in 2023, and Tetzlaff is excited to lead the next phase of growth. “With the resources available to our agency, the sky is the limit to how far we can grow as an agency. I’m thrilled to be in this position at ground zero, and I can already see a very bright future for the department.”

Born in Buffalo, Tetzlaff was raised in Orange County, California, before returning to his roots in Western New York in 2005. He currently resides in Wheatfield with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys music and spending time with his family.
