AAA Western and Central New York has hired a new Vice President of Insurance. Sandra Shambaugh recently joined the team at AAA though she’s already very familiar with the organization.

Sandra comes to AAA Western and Central New York with a wealth of experience leading insurance teams for the last 23 years including tenure at AAA Mountain West Group, AAA Colorado, and most recently AAA’s Auto Club Group (ACG). She has led successful AAA Insurance operations from California to Utah to Colorado to Western New York and is proud of serving the AAA brand across the country. Her experience includes developing strategies, sales operations across multiple carriers, and driving insurance sales growth. 

Sandra joins the executive leadership team at AAA Western and Central New York at its Amherst headquarters and will be responsible for leading insurance efforts and growth across the entire Western and Central New York region.

“What I learned the most by working at AAA in various roles is the importance of the trust we build with our members across all services,” Sandra said. “It’s important to me that members place the same trust in our ability to find the right fit and protection for their insurance needs as they do in our ability to respond to their ERS requests.”

As a past Rotarian, Sandra is looking to get involved in local communities and has a passion for supporting youth leadership development programs.

“I love being involved in the community and local church communities as well,” she said. “As a woman of Hispanic heritage, I look forward to providing a diverse outlook and being the best partner that I can be in everything that I do. I value the integrity of relationships.”

In her free time, Sandra enjoys snowshoeing, hiking, and sports. She looks forward to exploring the local arts community and attending local festivals. Now that she lives in the Western New York region, she looks forward to becoming a loyal Sabres fan!
