AAA Western and Central New York has hired a Director of Insurance. Chris Lawrence has joined the team at AAA bringing extensive insurance and leadership skills.

After 19 years at Geico, 17 of them being leadership roles, Lawrence comes to AAA at a time of immense growth in the insurance division. “I wanted to join a company that has a strong presence in the local community and has a family feel and a lot of growth opportunity to be a part of – AAA checked all those boxes,” he said.

In his new role, Lawrence will focus on strategically leading AAA Insurance teams across Western and Central New York with a focus on customer service. “One of my priorities will be expanding and growing insurance operations to make sure all of our members and clients are aware of the services we provide and that they are properly covered with our array of insurance products,” he noted.

During his time at Geico, Lawrence developed his leadership acumen across multiple areas of insurance in various roles, most recently as Director of Operational Strategy. He has experience leading teams in service, sales, underwriting, and claims, and he has a passion for driving performance by creating a motivated team first culture.

A Buffalo native and graduate from Medaille University and Niagara County Community College, Lawrence has a passion for creating a motivating and engaging sales culture.

When he’s not focused on insurance, you’ll find him coaching his children’s little league teams. He and his wife, Becky, have three children and they’re active in the Pendleton, North Tonawanda, and Starpoint areas. They enjoy checking out the local restaurant scene and rooting for the Buffalo Bills.
