April Engram has been named Communications Specialist for AAA Western and Central New York and will assist the public relations department of AAA WCNY with internal and external communications, media relations and more across the region. 

April comes to AAA with several years of hands-on experience as a music journalist, photographer and copywriter. She earned her English, and Communications minor, Bachelor’s degree from St. John Fisher College and her Masters in English from the University of Rochester. While working for the University of Rochester’s Psychology Department, April applied her copywriting and design skills to her role as Academic Coordinator where she not only ensured graduate students successfully walked across the commencement stage, she also addressed their communication needs.

April looks forward to her new public relations role. “I’m thrilled to join AAA and put my communications skills to work,” she said. “From automotive research to traffic safety efforts, I look forward to sharing AAA’s work with communities throughout Western and Central New York.”

A native of New York City, April lives in Rochester and enjoys spending spare time indulging in her music journalism roots and covering the occasional live act for national magazines.

She will work out of the AAA Penfield office and will assist with communication needs at AAA Travel & Insurance Centers in Pittsford and Greece, while coordinating communication-related efforts across the entire region.
