Medicare Annual Enrollment Period: Understand your options
Medicare Annual Enrollment Period: Understand your options
Fall is a time of transition. It’s also, for most individuals, one of the only opportunities for Medicare recipients to make changes to their coverage that could impact the future of their healthcare costs.
The annual enrollment period (AEP) is between Oct. 15 and Dec. 7. It’s a time period where Medicare beneficiaries can make changes to their health coverage. These changes take effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
What you choose for Medicare depends on your needs and healthcare uses. Each plan offers various coverage and expense options. How do you compare?
When it comes to reviewing your Medicare health plan choices, we make it simple! We'll help you understand your Medicare options and find the best plan for your needs. We shop plans that can save you money with $0 premiums, prescription coverage and extra benefits like dental and vision.
Who should reevaluate their Medicare plan?
THE ANSWER: Everyone in the Medicare system, especially people who foresee procedures, surgeries or new prescriptions in the future. AAA also recommends that people should have their Medicare plan reviewed every year to look at their choices during the AEP.
Why would you change your Medicare coverage?
With changes in our health and changes in Medicare options, it’s important to ask these questions during the AEP:
- Are you in the best plan for your needs?
- Are your prescriptions covered at the best price?
- Are you picking them up at a preferred pharmacy?
- Are all your doctors in-network?
- Do you have out-of-network coverage?
- What is your emergency coverage?
- Are you over-insured?
