With information changing rapidly, AAA Western and Central New York is working to keep members and the public informed amid the ongoing pandemic. 

Here are some travel updates for Wednesday, March 25:

• Celebrity Cruises has made the decision to extend global suspension for an additional 30-days, in hopes of now returning to service as of May 12, 2020 and for the Alaska season as of July 3, 2020.  
• Royal Caribbean has made the decision to extend global suspension for an additional 30-days, in hopes of now returning to service as of May 12, 2020 and for the Alaska season as of July 2, 2020.
• JetBlue is extending its waiver to assist customers impacted by the Coronavirus through May 31. AAA pulls a list of all travelers to reach out to them – this will affect well over 500 travelers.
• The United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) has created a consumer protection plan. The Travelers Assistance Program safeguards consumers for up to $1,000,000 in the aggregate from loss of deposits and payments for tours or vacation packages in the event of a USTOA Active Member bankruptcy, insolvency or cessation of business, or the material failure to complete performance of tour(s) or vacation package(s).

With information changing rapidly and, in an effort, to keep the public informed, AAA will share the latest information with radio host Roger Christian each weekday morning on WECK Buffalo. These segments run at 8:35 a.m. with an earlier segment on Thursdays at 8:15 a.m.

Please note that there may be more cancellations and suspensions since this was published as the situation continues to evolve quickly. Concerned travelers should always reach out to their travel consultant for the latest information. When AAA Western and Central New York receives notifications, the travel department immediately pulls a list of all travelers on that itinerary and proactively reaches out to them to assist with their travel needs.
