AAA Is Ready to Help You Tackle Medicare
The Annual Election Period (AEP), sometimes known as the Medicare enrollment period, is an opportunity for Medicare recipients to make changes to their plans. During the AEP, individuals can switch plans and add supplemental plans. The AEP is open from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
AAA Medicare agent Elizabeth Sciria says the weeks leading up to the AEP are the ideal time to determine if changing coverage is right for you.
“The AEP happens every single year. If you’ve been on the same plan for a long time and you’re happy with it, it’s still a good idea to see what other plans are available,” Sciria said. “You could be getting better prescription drug coverage and lower cost for services.”
If you are enrolled in Medicare with AAA as your agency and you’d like to make changes to your plan, simply contact your agent, Sciria said. AAA’s Medicare agents are trained on the latest Medicare changes and options, so they can help you make the best decision for your health.
Sciria has been hosting a series of free webinars for people interested in Medicare. Some attendees have expressed concerns about changes to their Medicare plans, including some who’ve discovered that they won’t have coverage if they leave the state for the winter. By working with AAA, Medicare recipients can identify these types of gaps in coverage and adjust their plan accordingly.
“As an independent agency, AAA offers you unbiased guidance on your Medicare options,” she said. “Your plan premiums stay the same whether you work with AAA or end up going directly with the carrier.”
