I have been very fortunate to have seen so many wonderful places in this world. In the U.S. I have traveled to many great destinations like Florida, California, New York City, Washington DC, Alaska, and Hawaii to name a few. I have visited many of the islands in the Caribbean too including Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Grand Cayman and the Bahamas. I love Europe and have visited Ireland, London, Denmark, Amsterdam, Normandy, Barcelona, Belgium, Naples, Venice, Florence, Marseilles, Athens, Greek Isles, Turkey and Croatia. I love cruising and have cruised the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Alaska, and Caribbean.
My favorite vacation was when we cruised Northern Europe. We spent a couple days in Copenhagen then cruised to Norway, Amsterdam, Germany, Belgium and France. We saw so much during that time. Copenhagen was beautiful, Amsterdam was very interesting and we were able to tour the hiding place of Ann Frank as well. In Belgium I visited the old town of Brugges which I highly recommend. There was stop in Bremerhaven Germany too which was really nice. We then visited the Beaches of Normandy and the American Cemetery. For anyone interested in history this is a must see. At the end of the cruise we spent a few days enjoying the sites and sounds of London. London is a great city and there is so much to see and do there. This trip just expanded my need to see and experience more of Europe. It was truly and great adventure that I was able to have with my family.
Being that I am a history buff my dream vacation would be to follow some more of the history of WWII. I would love to visit Germany, Poland, Belgium and France. Seeing Warsaw and Krakow and visiting Auschwitz is something I definitely want to do. Going back to Belgium and visiting Bastogne and the surrounding areas is also part of my idea. I would also like to go back to Normandy because there is so much more there I didn’t have time to see on my first visit.
