AAA Members Save On Summer Fun Using Club-Arranged Discounts

Exclusive savings available on hotel stays, theme park tickets, museums and more

BUFFALO, N.Y., May 4, 2012 — As the summer travel season approaches, many Americans will be carefully planning a vacation within their budget. A little research and advance planning can result in big savings. Last year, AAA members across the country saved nearly $2 billion using AAA discounts and the Show Your Card & Save® program. AAA Western and Central New York recommends members “save on” by using the dozen of exclusive member-only discounts available.

“Higher gas prices and tight household budgets continue to cause anxiety for some travelers who are currently planning a summer getaway,” said Wally Smith, Vice President of AAA Western and Central New York. “AAA is pleased to offer members many discounts on travel destinations and services that will ease the financial burden of a memorable summer.”

The following is a partial list of travel discounts available to AAA members to help make a summer getaway more affordable. A complete list is available at

Save On Family Fun

There is an endless list of attractions where AAA members can take the whole family and use their exclusive discounts. Experience the history of New York State at Old Fort Niagara and the Susan B. Anthony House, or dive into fun at the Aquarium of Niagara Falls, the Corning Museum of Glass and the National Museum of Play at The Strong.

Save On Sports

Summer isn’t complete without taking the time to enjoy an outdoor sporting event. Save on tickets for Rochester’s professional soccer team, the Rhinos. Discounted admission is also available at The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown—home to the greatest stars and the history of America’s pastime.

Members feeling the need for speed can also use their membership to save at Fulton Speedway or experience the rush of Cattaraugus Creek and Salmon River with Adventure Calls White Water Rafting. Those looking for a more relaxing recreational activity can hit several of the state’s top public golf courses on the New York Golf Trail and save on a package.

Save On Theme Parks

Whether it’s the thrill of a roller coaster or the allure of a water park, AAA members have plenty of options to stay entertained on a sun-soaked day. Save on tickets and admission fees at Cedar Point, Darien Lake, Enchanted Forest/Water Safari, Seabreeze and The Great Escape in Lake George.

Save On Travel and Hotels

If summer vacation means traveling far from home, there are ways to cut down on the cost of the trip by renting a car with Hertz and taking a train with Amtrak. Members in Western New York can also swipe their AAA Membership Card at a NOCO Express pump and save up to 10 cents on every gallon of gasoline.

AAA membership also saves at dozens of hotels across Western and Central New York—including chains like Best Western, Days Inn, Hyatt and Sheraton. Discounts also are in place at Salvatore’s Garden Place Hotel, the Turning Stone Resort & Casino and Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel.

Save On Summer Travel Supplies

Additional discounts can be found on summer travel supplies including clothes, bathing suits and even a new book to read poolside. AAA members can save at dozens of stores throughout the Boulevard Mall, Carousel Center and Great Northern Mall. A quick trip to the outlets can save hundreds of dollars—just head to the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls, USA or Waterloo Premium Outlets for coupons and exclusive deals.
