Halloween Theme - Main Title by John Carpenter

Get the spooky atmosphere going with one of the most iconic horror themes ever, composed by Halloween (1978) writer and director John Carpenter.

Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell

Kick the energy up with this ominous 80s pop classic featuring Michael Jackson on vocals. Rockwell is the son of Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown Records.

I Walked With a Zombie by Roky Erickson

Can you read the title? Then you already know the lyrics to this pop gem by the great, late Roky Erickson. Erickson's 13th Floor Elevators were innovators in the psych-rock genre.

The Monster Mash by Bobby "Boris" Pickett

Every Halloween playlist requires an appearance by The Monster Mash. Bobby "Boris" Pickett penned this novelty hit in 1962.

¡Ghostbusters! by Los Straitjackets

With all due respect to Ray Parker Jr., Los Straitjackets' unique take on the Ghostbusters (1984) was our pick for this list.

Horror Hotel by The Misfits

The Misfits brought classic horror movie imagery to punk rock in the 1970s and 80s. This one was inspired by 1960's Horror Hotel starring Christopher Lee.

Freaks Come Out at Night by Whodini

This 80s hip-hop favorite is a great fit for the Halloween season. Brooklyn's Whodini scored this hit along with "Friends" on 1984's Escape album.

Bo Meets the Monster by Bo Diddley

Hear the tale of Bo Diddley's encounter with a one-eyed purple people eater. Diddley's music was a major influence on everyone from Elvis Presley to the Rolling Stones.

This is Halloween by Midnight String Quartet

A favorite from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), this instrumental version is a bit more subtle than the original.

(Sock It To Me Baby) In The House of Shock by The Fleshtones

This toe-tapper stands as a modern compliment to Halloween novelty songs like "The Monster Mash." The Fleshtones started playing their brand of garage rock in Queens, NY in 1976.

Time Warp by Little Nell

This instructional dance-along from the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) is just plain silly fun!

Spooky by Andy Williams

Cool things down with this smooth jam made famous by Atlanta Rhythm Section. The song has been recorded dozens of times, but Andy Williams' version makes our list.

Thriller by Michael Jackson

You probably saw this one coming. Made famous by its groundbreaking music video, there may never be a spooky pop song that can rival "Thriller".

(Don't Fear) The Reaper by Blue Öyster Cult

Both catchy and creepy at the same time, Long Island's Blue Öyster Cult released this classic on 1976's Agents of Fortune album.

Pet Sematary by The Ramones

Written for the film adaptation of Steven King's Pet Sematary novel, the Ramones scored one of their biggest hits with this daunting classic. King was a huge Ramones fan, too!

The Twilight Zone by The Ventures

The Ventures give The Twilight Zone theme the surf treatment with this instrumental that's sure to take you to your next stop, the Twilight Zone!

Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) by Harry Belefonte

Things are truly winding down with this traditional Jamaican folk song that took on a creepy new identity after being featured in the hit horror comedy Beetlejuice (1988).

Addams Groove by M.C. Hammer

Trick or treat? This song is NOT a treat, in fact the scariest thing about it is how bad it is. But if you've survived the playlist so far, you may have the guts to finish up with this oddity from the Addams Family Values (1993) soundtrack.

We hope this selection of songs will entertain you during your next road trip this Halloween season! Just don't let your trip come to an early end due to car trouble! Get your car into a AAA Approved Auto Repair Facility near you before you hit the road.
