US DOT Fee Disclosure Requirements

Now in effect, consumer protection rules from the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT) require airlines to disclose baggage fees and complete fares including taxes and fees to consumers. Airlines are also required to give customers 24 hours to change reservations without having to pay re-booking fees. These new requirements enable a more informed traveling public, better enable consumers to budget vacation travel, and bring added flexibility to consumers' travel planning process. These US DOT requirements are applicable for all members and travelers booking travel on AAA.com.
