Leave the Big Horn Basin for another big day—you're off to Yellowstone, America's first National Park. Look out for herds of bison and grazing elk and listen for the roar of Yellowstone Falls. Stroll the boardwalks and watch for spouting geysers and steaming vents, peer into the turquoise hot springs, and listen to the gurgling boiling mudpots. Keep an eye on your watch for the next nearly-hourly appearance of Old Faithful, shooting up to 40 metres (180 feet) high! Bid 'so long' to Montana as you travel through Flathead country into Idaho. Stretch your legs and explore the resort town at the great lake of Coeur d'Alene, once a French and Native American trade centre. Cross the border into Washington State.
