Witness the Return of “Tut Mania” in Toronto with AAA

Two travel options available for King Tut: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs exhibition

BUFFALO, N.Y., December 4, 2009 – AAA Western and Central New York is offering members and the general public the opportunity to experience “Tut Mania” at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in Toronto this January. AAA Travel has arranged two exclusive journeys to experience Canada’s only showing of King Tut: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs.

“The newest King Tut exhibition includes twice as many artifacts as the 1979 exhibition and has sparked a renewed interest in ancient Egyptian history,” said Tom Chestnut, President/CEO of AAA Western and Central New York. “Travelers will experience the mystique of Tutankhamun and 130 remarkable pieces from the tomb of the ‘boy king’ and other ancient royalty, most of which have never been seen in North America.”

AAA’s King Tut in Toronto tour departs on January 29, 2010 and returns the next day. Highlights include admission to the exhibition, dinner at the Hot House Cafe, overnight accommodations at the Fairmount Royal York, breakfast on Saturday, and round trip deluxe motorcoach transportation from Buffalo, Rochester, Cortland, or Syracuse. The tour also includes a professional AAA tour guide, taxes, and gratuities at a rate of $265.00 per person based on double occupancy. Single and triple rates are also available, as well as special pricing for seniors and children.

AAA is also offering a one day package for $99, including round trip deluxe motorcoach transportation from Buffalo or Rochester, admission to the exhibition, lunch, taxes, gratuities, and a professional AAA tour guide.

King Tut: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs exhibition features 50 items from the tomb of King Tut, including jewelry and weapons, furniture, the golden sandals that adorned the mummy’s feet, a beautifully adorned canopic jar that contained the mummified internal organs of the boy king. The exhibition also includes an unearthed ten-foot statue of King Tut found in a funerary temple of two high Egyptian officials and 80 other objects from the tombs of Pharaoh Khufu, King Psusennes I, and Hatshepsut, the queen who became king.
